The Effects of Licorice Root and Potato Extracts on Tyrosinase Activities

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study was to identify the whitening activity of extracts from licorice root and potato on tyrosinase activity. The effects of plant extracts on total melanin synthesis were measured. And melanoma tyrosinase activity of B16 melanoma and mushroom were also determined. The cytotoxicities of these extracts were measured by MTT assay. The results showed that all the extracts effectively inhibited the tyrosinase activity and total melanin synthesis. And we also confirmed the non-cytotoxicity of plant extracts by MTT assay.
